It's not every spring we have the chance to start off with an exclusive guest mix by a Berliner friend, but this spring we've been handed a presen. Last February we had the pleasure of broadcasting Jan Blomqvist's and Ryan Mathiesen's -also known as Jane Daar- guest mix and interview, as a result of the friendship we earned from these amazing producers. That friendship brought us to this year's springtime, where we get to enjoy it with Ryan's exclusive guest mix, made by vinyls and with greek afternoons in mind. Today we return the favor by choosing his remix on Niconé's 'Meowfucker', from the later's upcoming 'Let Love Begin Remixed' EP via Stil Vor Talent. Ryan's awesome guest mix is available below for your pleasure.
Artist info: Ryan Mathiesen grew up in Vancouver, Canada and moved to Berlin in 2009. He has studied philosophy and psychology and is a producer, songwriter and lyricist. He first begun composing his own music in 2006 and has been refining his work since, carrying out a unique blend of deep house, organic tech-house, disco and classic rock. He is the half of Jane Daar, alongside his good friend Jan Blomqvist, for whom he also writes lyrics for his solo releases and over the past 2 years has played an important role in creating club hits on Universal Music, Stil vor Talent Records, Dantze Records and Hive Audio. Ryan's first original track was released in summer 2013 via Igloo Records and is followed by a remix on Niconé that comes out on March 2014, as well as his very own first EP via Dantze Records on the same month. This will undoubtedly be followed by a string of EP’s and an LP as Ryan has produced a bag of near-finished tracks this year. By Spring 2014, these fresh productions will be presented in a live club set augmented by instrumentalists and vocalists.
Ryan’s ongoing collaboration with Jan Blomqvist will result in a new LP to be signed next month by a major international label and released May 2014. Ryan is also currently penning lyrics for the upcoming albums of Nico Stojan and The/Das, respectively.
